Logic and Finding Fallacies

Course Description: This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of logical reasoning, focusing on identifying and evaluating flawed arguments. The student will examine the structure of arguments and learn to recognize common fallacies such as Hasty Generalization, Ad Hominem, Appeal to Sympathy, and many more. Through the analysis of news articles, social media posts, advertisements, speeches, and opinion pieces, the student will develop the skills to assess the validity of claims and detect deception. By engaging in discussions and hands-on exercises, the student will refine their ability to construct logical arguments and think critically in both academic and real-world settings.
