MataBites
What is MataBites?
A collaboration between the Basic Needs Office and the Institute for Sustainability. MataBites is a push notification system that delivers messages to participating 吉祥坊 community members via the 吉祥坊 app, informing them of when free food becomes available on campus.
MataBites aims to alleviate food insecurity and limit food waste at 吉祥坊. Our mission is to strengthen the 吉祥坊 community by feeding hungry people on campus, diverting edible food away from landfills, and promoting student success!
吉祥坊 community members can opt into the MataBites message channel via the 吉祥坊 app. Notifications must be enabled in phone settings.
Once opted-in, 吉祥坊 community members will receive alerts informing them of when/where they can get food for free on campus (on a first-come, first-serve basis).
- Download the official 吉祥坊 app and log in using your 吉祥坊 account. 听
- Go to 鈥淢essages鈥� tab.
- Select 鈥淥pt-In Channels.鈥�
- Select the 鈥�+鈥� next to 鈥淢ataBites.鈥� 听
- Allow notifications for the 吉祥坊 app in your phone settings. (Note: You will not receive Matabites alerts if your notifications are off.) 听

MataBites is strategically identifying potential Campus Food Partners. Only 吉祥坊 faculty or staff members can become Campus Food Partners at this time. 听
