I'm a New Freshman

Welcome to the Matador family! To enroll in classes, you first need to receive academic advising. Be sure to regularly check your ¼ªÏé·» Gmail for important messages from your advising center, including a link to sign up for a freshman advisement appointment and registration workshop.

To locate your advisement office:

  • COMMUNICATIONS MAJORS will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication.
  • JOURNALISM MAJORS will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication.
  • MUSIC MAJORS will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication.
  • THEATRE MAJORS will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication.
  • COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES MAJORS will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in their respective academic college. ITEP FTF will continue to be served by the Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies Department advisors.

  • BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION/MARKETING OPTION will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
  • BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT OPTION will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
  • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP): Incoming EOP freshmen are served by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in their respective academic college. Exploratory EOP students are served by the EOP Exploratory Advisement Coordinator.
  • LIBERAL STUDIES ITEP FRESHMAN: ITEP students are served by the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies. Students majoring in all other options of Liberal Studies will be advised by the Student Services Center/EOP Satellite housed in the College of Humanities.
  • MATADOR ACHIEVEMENT CENTER: Academic advisement for student athletes.
  • Members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community are advised by both their appropriate academic advisor and NCOD: DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING SERVICES.
  • All other first-year freshmen will receive advising, support and enrollment assistance from the MATADOR ADVISING HUB.
