Student Legal Support Clinic

The Student Legal Support Clinic (“Clinic”) is a unique collaboration between 鷻, the Associated Students and Southwestern Law School’s Community Lawyering Clinic. The Clinic is directed by Southwestern Professor and Directing Attorney Julia Vázquez and staffed by law students under her direct supervision.

The clinic is open to 鷻 students who are currently enrolled.

The Clinic is committed to assisting all 鷻 students gain access to legal services for any legal issue.For cases that fall outside of the scope of our representation, we provide 鷻 students with a legal empowerment plan, which includes their legal rights as well as referrals to reputable pro-bono or low-cost legal services.

In a survey conducted by the Associated Students, immigration was identified as a top priority for 鷻 students.The Clinic will provide pro bono advice, counsel and representation to 鷻 students in a variety of immigration legal services, including, but not limited to: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Adjustment of Status, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status ("SIJS"), Violence against Women Act ("VAWA"), U visa and Naturalization Services.In addition to client representation, Southwestern Law Students will conduct community based legal workshops to meet the needs of the 鷻 student community.

During the fall 2024 semester, Legal Clinic appointments are available Monday through Friday.

The Clinic is offered as a service to 鷻 students but does not constitute solicitation or provision of legal advice by 鷻. Any legal information or advice is provided solely by Southwestern Law School.
