Academic Advisement

Thank you for visiting the College of Engineering and Computer Science, Student Services/EOP Satellite (CECS SSC/EOP). 

New Fall 2025 Student Advisement Information

Attention: If you are a Fall 2025 First Time Freshman (FTF) International F-1 Visa student, please contact the HUB for advisement assistance: (818) 677-2900.

If you are a Fall 2025 FTF Student Athlete, please contact the Matador Achievement Center for advisement assistance: (818) 677-4781.

Beginning in Mid-May 2025, all other admitted Fall 2025 First Time Freshmen (FTF) who have submitted their Intent to Enroll will start receiving an advisement invitation.  As notated in the invitation, Fall 2025 FTF will need to complete and T9 Training prior to arranging their advisement and registration appointment.

Which other students do we assist?

The CECS SSC/EOP Center advises Engineering and Computer Science students who fall under the following categories  (if required to be advised by the Center, students will receive an advisement invitation via their ¼ªÏé·» email account):

  • 2nd Semester Freshmen with 30 or more units - referred by the HUB

  • 3rd Semester Freshmen Fall 2023 admits - referred by the HUB

  • Continuing Students with 59 or less units in good standing

  • EOP Students from point of entry as First Time Freshman or First Time Transfer through graduation regardless of academic standing or units earned.

  • Academic Notice (aka Probationregardless of units earned (& those referred by HUB)

  • Disqualified Students 

  • First Time Transfers are highly recommended to be advised, but not required, (with some exceptions as not all majors require advisement). All students will be invited to attend an advisement session.  Invitations will start going out in Mid-May.  Please WAIT for the invitation BEFORE contacting the Center.  Note: if you are an International F-1 Visa student, you will be assisted via the HUB.

NOTE: Continuing Juniors and Seniors in good standing DO NOT meet with our Center (unless part of the category above or if arrangements were made).

Juniors and Seniors in good standing are recommended to use their Degree Progress Report (DPR), Degree Road Maps, Major Web and Catalog Information to plan course enrollment. For advisement assistance, students are encouraged to contact their major department – See contact information below:
