By providing a snapshot of how you would prefer to be recognized, my¼ªÏé·»profile allows ¼ªÏé·» professors and staff to better honor you as an individual — and that creates an even more respectful, inclusive learning community for all of us.
my¼ªÏé·»profile has been updated to allow you to opt in to display your student ID photo in the SOLAR class roster, update your mailing address, phone number and emergency contact information and list a preferred name. You can continue to record your name for proper pronunciation as well. A preferred pronoun option will be added soon. Check back later this year for updates.
To access your my¼ªÏé·»profile, log in to the myNorthridge Portal and select the my¼ªÏé·»profile quick link icon, located on the Home tab, or simply select the button below.
User Preference Information
To record your name, you’ll need to sign in using your campus username and password. After successfully signing in, you will have the option to use a web recorder or your device’s microphone. You can also enter a phone number to record via an automated callback. The entire process is free; it’s secure and only takes a few minutes.
To opt in to display your photo in class rosters, you’ll need to have purchased a student photo ID. Your ID photo will be automatically imported to SOLAR, and once it shows up in my¼ªÏé·»profile, all you have to do is select the opt-in option. During the spring 2018 semester, your picture will only appear in the SOLAR faculty class rosters. As my¼ªÏé·»profile is further developed, look for features to be integrated to support other student services, such as commencement.
To edit your vital student information with my¼ªÏé·»profile, simply select the link for the information that you want to modify (e.g., Home Address or Cellular Phone Number) and follow the instructions. Remember to save your changes. The new information will automatically appear in my¼ªÏé·»profile. During the spring 2018 semester, your information will only appear in the SOLAR faculty class rosters. As my¼ªÏé·»profile is further developed, look for features to be integrated to support other student services, such as commencement.
