Community Engagement
The Office of Community Engagement enhances academic experiences through service learning, engaged research, and sustained partnerships within the San Fernando Valley, the greater Los Angeles Area and beyond.

Offers signature student programs, such as Corporate Connect, Dinner with Matadors and resume reviews, that are designed to connect you with ¼ªÏé·» alumni. Making connections now can lead to you landing an internship, job or mentor. Scholarship opportunities are also available.
International and Exchange Student Center
The International and Exchange Student Center (IESC) fosters the success of international students and actively promotes international study and domestic exchange opportunities for all students at ¼ªÏé·». The IESC actively encourages students’ academic and co-curricular achievements, creative abilities and professional competencies by creating gateways to an international curriculum and education. By innovatively encouraging participation in cross-cultural programs, IESC provides all students with the opportunity to thrive in an interdependent world while developing their international understanding and becoming cultural ambassadors.
Living Learning Community/Themed Living Community Programs
There are several Living Learning Communities (LLCs) and Themed Learning Communities (TLCs) that you can choose to be a part of. In the LLCs, housing residents are drawn from a specific recognized major, academic program or college on campus. In the TLCs, residents are not necessarily drawn from a specific recognized major, but rather are students who unite around a special theme. Each community offers its own scheduled events, academic support, and social activities.

Matador Involvement Center (MIC)
The place to learn more about getting involved on campus and meeting people with similar interests. Discover clubs and organizations, volunteer projects, fraternities and sororities, and resources for leadership development.
Office of Student Involvement and Development (OSID)
OSID exists to develop and support students in becoming engaged members and successful graduates of the ¼ªÏé·» community. Through purposeful co-curricular programming, advocacy, and advisement, OSID familiarizes students with the campus and its resources, fosters social connections and campus pride, provides opportunities for involvement and leadership development, and cultivates students’ passion to positively impact their communities.

Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES)
provides a variety of support services to empower students, foster independence, promote achievement of realistic career and educational goals, and assist students in discovering, developing, and demonstrating their full potential and abilities. DRES staff members work closely with faculty to facilitate service requests, serve as a resource for disability management issues and suggest accommodations.
Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP)
EOP designs, administers, and supports programs that deliver access and retention services to ¼ªÏé·» students. EOP provides services to historically low-income, historically educationally disadvantaged, first-generation college students; a population that not only reflects the diversity of ¼ªÏé·»’s feeder communities but also the diversity of the university itself. Programs include:
EOP Dream Center
A resource center for undocumented students and allies.
EOP Resilient Scholars
Support program for emancipated youth. Students have access and a personal point of contact with over 20 campus departments including the health and counseling centers, financial aid, and admissions and records.
EOP TRIO
A retention, persistence, and graduation support program for first-generation and low-income students.
National Center on Deafness (NCOD)
NCOD provides communication access, leadership opportunities, scholarships, and direct communication classes for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Registering with NCOD allows students to receive access to services such as interpreting, speech-to-text transcription, note taking, tutoring, academic advisement, and priority registration.
The California State University, Northridge's University Library provides educational, cultural and information services and resources to the students, faculty, and the community. Its primary mission is to support and supplement classroom and independent learning; facilitate student and faculty research; and provide students with lifelong skills in identifying, locating, evaluating and synchronizing information. In addition to , students can also and utilize such as tablet and laptop check out, 3D printing, and scanning.
Pride Center
The Pride Center supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning (LGBTQIA+) students, faculty, and staff through programming and educational outreach to improve the campus climate for LGBTQIA+ individuals as well as advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.
Veterans Resource Center
Assists ¼ªÏé·» students as they transition from military service to academic success. Promotes the academic, personal, and professional development of student veterans, reservists, members of the National Guard and their dependents through supportive services, resources, and community building events.

Learning Resource Center (LRC)
The LRC enables students to improve their academic performance through a variety of learning programs, including workshops. One on one and group tutoring, and supplemental instruction classes.

Addressing Hunger/Homeless and Emergency needs with Assistance and Resources Together
¼ªÏé·» Food Pantry
Provides emergency nourishment and basic necessities at no cost to ¼ªÏé·» students, faculty, and staff. Supplies food and offers food program assistance to those who are without reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.
Housing Instability Project
A listing of resources available to help and support students who may be experiencing homelessness and are looking for housing services.
University Counseling Services
Provides a variety of free short term counseling services to students, including individual counseling, crisis intervention, group and workshops, and psychiatric consultation.
Career Center
Offers career exploration and advisement along with job-search strategies to students and eligible alumni.
Internships
The Career Center can also provide information on internships and real-world connections to employers.

Research Opportunities
BUILD PODER
Trains undergraduate students to become biomedical researchers. Along with the National Research Mentoring Network and the Coordination and Evaluation Center, BUILD sites coordinate their activities and data to develop a national database of best practices.
HSI Pathways to the Professoriate
Prepares students to succeed in a Ph.D. program in the humanities or a related field.
