The Matador Achievement Center is an academic advising and support office that has been supporting NCAA Division 1 student-athletes at ¼ªÏé·» since 1993. Putting the academic success of our student-athletes first, we monitor their degree progress and success in the classroom by providing services to assist them on their way to graduation while maintaining their academic eligibility with the NCAA.

What We Do
NCAA Eligibility: Woven in most everything done in the office, advisors are keeping track of each student-athlete’s NCAA eligibility. Consideration is given to eligibility throughout the advising process and when assigning academic support.
Athletic Academic Advising: The MAC supports ¼ªÏé·» student-athletes with their NCAA academic eligibility requirements and academic/career goals. We partner with University Advising staff in a dual-advisement system, ensuring that student-athletes receive correct advisement information for their major and are build relationships for long term needs. MAC Advisors regularly connect with students throughout the semester to review current class progress, upcoming semester registration and academic support needs, graduation projection and introductory plans for life after graduation. Â
Academic Support: Academic support offered to student-athletes is offered in addition to what the campus already provides. This includes one-on-one tutoring, peer learning assistance, learning specialist and academic specialist meetings, objective-based structured study, and a technology checkout program.
Other: Academic team meetings, student development programming, meetings with coaches and sport administrators, potential student-athlete recruiting visits, compliance and eligibility trainings, APR tracking, grade progress reports, travel letters, transfer student initial eligibility, Summer Success Program.
